Julie Brodell Smith is Director of Consulting for a Change Management firm, Executive Leadership Coach, teacher, and facilitator.  With over 14 years of experience combining her hard business expertise with organizational development knowledge, Julie manages social complexity to achieve outcomes and enhance the performance of individual executives.  

Ms. Smith has over 13 years of consulting experience in marketing, public relations, social media, and other related communications disciplines. Ms. Brodell has provided project management and leadership for multiple project teams, and has demonstrated extensive experience completing strategic communications projects for the Intelligence Community within the Department of Defense and the General Services Administration (GSA). 

 

Ms. Smith has assisted a range of organizations, including the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), the Defense POW MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) and the Concepts, Development, Management (CDM) organization.  Ms. Brodell specializes in aligning stakeholders around a shared perspective through facilitations and the creation of graphic system models. With a proven track record for operational improvements, Julie’s work in marketing, strategic planning, logistics, business process re-engineering, organizational transformation, and change management has consistently resulted in increased performance and strategic alignment of diverse stakeholders.  Julie has also developed her proprietary methodology in customer service to support clients to increase trust and improve their operational effectiveness.  

 

Julie has an M.B.A. from the University of Maryland and a B.S. in Political Science and Business from Washington University in St. Louis.  She has held a PMP certification since 2013 and is a Senior Professional in Human Resources since 2017.  Julie is a certified virtual facilitator (CVF), and has facilitated large-scale sessions with over 250 stakeholders via virtual platforms, which has been especially critical during the COVID environment.  Julie serves as a guest lecturer on Organizational Development and Leadership for both the National Defense University and the University of Maryland. 

 

Julie is currently attending George Mason University’s Leadership Coaching for Organizational Well Being Program., and will become a certified Executive Coach in 2021.  

 

Julie's proudest accomplishment is being a wife and mom! Julie lives with her husband and two daughters in North Arlington, VA and loves helping other new working moms to navigate challenges and seize on opportunities.
